Build Your Own Website
So you don’t want to hire a professional website designer because you believe you could build a website yourself cheaper. If you are fairly techie, have the time to learn a little bit, and have a few dollars, you probably can.
I started out with a program called FrontPage that made the process pretty easy. As time went by, I learned enough to know that it altered the HTML in a manner that was not standard code and had to have the FrontPage extensions placed on my web host provider’s server. Sometimes, the hosting provider would have trouble with the FrontPage extensions and my site would look terrible or would not work at all. I’d call them and they would fix it eventually. I finally gave up on trying to keep a website alive using FrontPage extensions.
Then, I switched to Dreamweaver. It is much advanced over FrontPage but there was a considerable learning curve. I have been using Dreamweaver for over 5 years now and still learn new things that Dreamweaver can do that I didn’t know about before. It is really an awesome program but a little bit overkill for the average user and it is quite expensive. Having a website designed by a professional designer would usually be much cheaper than buying Dreamweaver and the other software needed to produce a website.
However, there is a program that I know is much cheaper and can build an excellent website with all the tools, bells, and whistles you need. It is called XSitePro. I bought this program a few years ago for my wife because she needed a program that could build websites quicker, easier, and with little or no knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS or anything else. I wanted her to help me with my business by building the websites while I concentrated on and marketing of these websites. After I bought her XSitePro, I actually liked it myself and discovered it performed much better than I had expected allowing my wife to build websites with ease. I did not chose this software on a whim but because of the recommendations of a special group of people I’ll tell you about now.
The purpose of my websites was to generate cash from affiliate marketing. One of the BEST sources for affiliate marketing is the WickedFire.com forum. Now, this forum is NOT for the average Joe. It is a website forum designed for thick skinned affiliate marketers to discuss their thoughts on affiliate marketing. I would not recommend this site to anyone except an experienced affiliate marketer but they do have a wealth of information concerning all things pertaining to affiliate marketing including website building tools and always give unbiased opinions about their trade. Do NOT get on this website and make a stupid request to know how to make money unless you want to be called numerous names by the other experienced forum members and be banned from the website forever.
While researching a recommendation for a good website building tool other than Dreamweaver, I ran a search on WickedFire.com for several other website building tools and found that XSitePro had two pages of references from these experienced builders and most of the others had no references or only bad comments. If you wish, you can run the same search for yourself today and you will see what I am talking about. Now, I know that these people would not have ANY good comments if XSitePro were not an excellent product and it had numerous recommendations from members of the forum. Thus, my recommendation for XSitePro and reason for its initial purchase.
XSitePro now has a Version 2 out that is even better than before. One of the nice things about XSitePro is that, once you buy it, you get free upgrades for life. So, if you want to save some cash and attempt to build a website yourself, you can’t go wrong buying XSitePro. But don’t take my word for it. Just check out its numerous features, its free offers, and make your own determination.
